Tiberio Snaidero, Led Zeppelin’s Will to Power, Milano, Mimesis International, August 2020 đ
In Led Zeppelinâs Will to Power, I examine the potential philosophical interpretations of Led Zeppelin, including: the original approach to the bandâs management, the distinctive features of each of its four original members, the themes of the songsâ lyrics, the aesthetics of its musical production, the epic character of the tours, and the symbolism of the albumsâ paratextual devices.
The results of this exegesis have allowed me to identify the constituent aspects of Led Zeppelinâs philosophy, as intentionally disclosed by the entity {Page + Plant + Jones + Bonham}. These aspects include the concepts of the âTheatre of Crueltyâ, âRitual Repetitionâ, âCarnivalâ, âSacred Eroticismâ, âVitalistic Hedonismâ, âWill to Powerâ, and the Sublime.
This latter serves as an effective summary of Led Zeppelinâs philosophy and aesthetics, both in terms of the audienceâs emotional reception and artistic production.
